Most of the people I know graduated in May.
Most high schools are in June.
Most colleges in May.

16. Michigan has a very short winter/Holiday break, so they finish earlier.
Lots of other universities have extended January holidays. But there's nothing to do in Michigan in January anyway.

17. May 7th is the last day of classes at UC Berkeley (finals are next)
And there are so many graduating on the campus that each department has a different graduation day all through May. all in different venues, because some departments are very large and others quite small.

20-some years apart.
