Okay so I basically "lost" it today on an acquaintance.
This nimrod that I run into at another agency.. could not wait to get up in my face when I walked through the door with.. "Well what is your hero Obama going to do about this oil slick"?

Now this guy has been a burr in my side for the last year. He knows I am a Democrat and who I voted for. The turkey claims he is an independent, who voted for the Bush's and Reagan, but never ever supported a Democratic canidate.. the only thing I have ever seen him as independent of is his sanity..but that is another story.

He is one of those who likes to allude to the Presidents supporters as believing that Obama is the second coming..

Well here he comes.. just as fast as he can across the hall.. want to needle me..

"Well what is your hero Obama going to do about this oil slick"? he asks..

I look at him in his beady little self righteous eyes and tell him..

"Use it to walk on water you little toad"

3. Ha!

Oh, Peacetrain! You are such a doll! I can't imagine you getting that heated, so if you did, it was no doubt certainly well-deserved!

What did his face look like when you called him a little toad? C'mon! Dish!

You can tell him that Obama will no doubt work very hard to reinstate the regulations that his honey buns Bush and Company lifted that allowed such a catastrophic disaster to happen in the first place!

Or, tell him to stand back... so he doesn't get cape whip burns all over his face!

4. Well to be honest he took a couple of steps backwards..
I usually just ignore him.. So he was not fully prepared, he thought he was going to be cute..

Lets just say, he gave me plenty of room while I visited with the director of the agency he works at.. and as I wove my way down the hall and through the desks to leave.. he was... shall we say very very preoccupied with something on his desk.. Did not look up//

clean-up, or the company that caused this godawful mess? I don't even know where you're coming from.

And ftr, BP will be paying for this, not the government, although we have more resources to try to at least curb some of the damage. Is that also not acceptable to you?

to have the federal government clean it up as best it can. Then hand BP the bill.

Edited to add: I say this because I think BP is going to cut corners and do as little as possible if they're in control of the cleanup.

wears thin when this is BP's mess.

I was saying that my comeback to this guy would be that I was waiting for the "free market" to clean up the spill since it supposedly does *everything* better than government does.

And I do disagree with you, I don't think BP will *ever* pay the full cost of the spill just like Exxon didn't pay the full cost for it's mistake. It would probably go out of business first. This spill is huge and the environmental damage massive.

31. The free market would supposedly mean that BPs "reputation"
would suffer, so consumers would go to other oil companies for their oil. I kid you not. They really say things like this.

21. Papantonio was just on the Ed Show. He says blame Bush's de-regulation.
Pap is going to be one of the lawyers I believe for some of the people getting set to sue BP. He says that BP in other countries has to use a $500K fail safe device on such deep water wells, but in the US under Cheney/Bush, the regs were loosened so that this requirement in place in most of the rest of the world isn't in place here. Hence, the spill. Another legacy from "W", the poison tree that just keeps bearing fruit.

27. Seriously... like this Teatard ever cared about an oil slick before...
If it was a Repiglican President, he'd:

- Blame the British (BP)
- say that sometimes accidents happen but we need to drill, baby drill
- say it's no big deal

What is Obama doing about it? Giving federal money to a governor who says that government doesn't work...

That'll teach those RW-ers. They think that liberals will lie down and wait for the conservatives to kick them around.

Well no longer.

Excellently done. He'll think twice before pulling that crap again.
