Watching the CNN stream of the DC Gun Rally... compared to anti-war rallies in the past

There was some radio guy who was on (don't know his name) who was talking about how he needs to have his gun "to protect his family" in Chicago. It was as if he is not allowed to even own a gun. This is, of course, a complete fabrication and an outright lie. In Illinois, you can own weapons but it's not as lax as states like Virginia. You need a background check and your firearm needs to be registered. Does this guy complain that people don't need licenses and a check on their background for automobiles?

Then some guy comes on after that and basically if calling for "a gun barrel behind every blade of grass". He screams that "we don't want our country run by Socialists and Communists" to a roaring crowd. "Freedom!", he cries... which is a joke since he probably is against gay rights, for the Patriot Act and anti-choice.

Another jackass comes on and says "do we remember the Oklahoma bombings? Yes, and we remember Waco too". Then the demonization of all those who know "we are at war", he says "we are coming for them" to hoots and hollers.

Again, as the cameras fade back to show how many people are there, it's a pretty small crowd. Compare that to the anti-war rallies, where many thousands more attended and, while speaking in protest and dissent, didn't say they wanted to attack the "other side" or threaten those for the wars with violence.

Armed America Radio keeps getting mentioned by the speakers and this is what is said on that web site:

Because our freedoms are at stake and because we can. We are now faced with the most ANTI-FREEDOM, GUN HATING, SOCIALIST-DRIVEN administration and agenda in our nation’s history. The timing for this program is a natural in todays environment. The onslaught of gun-haters who want to take away your freedoms CAN NOT AND WILL NOT GO UNATTENDED BY THE USCCA and Mark Walters.

Anti-freedom? Gun hating? Socialist-driven? Do these people have to lie to get their followers?

4. You can own a rifle or shotgun in Chicago with a Firearms Owners Identification card

You can't conceal and carry and have to unload the gun and put it in a case when transferring.

3. There's handgun ban in Chicago.

You can still own some guns, and there are ways to get permission for one. Anyone who keeps one locked up in the closet isn't going to have it seized or searched for. There was a major court case to overturn the ban recently.

the collection of firearms from all citizens or the repeal of the 2nd amendment and I missed it?????

I keep hearing all this hysteria about Obama and company 'coming for them' and yet all the open carry that has taken place at rallies and other functions and no one has said 'boo' to them about it and yet they are convinced they are targeted.

I know there are meds for just about everything these days, are there drugs for hopelessly paranoid and the irretrievably stupid?
