My short LTTE re Tea Partiers.
To the editor:

While it is truly touching to see the Tea Partiers’ outpouring of concern over the future of our children, where were all these “patriots” when George W. Bush was running up the deficit as fast as he could?

Had Mr. Bush preserved the surplus left him by President Clinton, had he not put two wars and a massive Medicare entitlement on the country’s “credit card” and had he enforced regulation of the financial markets, we would not face the deficits we are now seeing. The Tea Partiers, whose age demographic shows they are primarily over the age of 45, were old enough to see what Bush was doing. Yet they said nothing, carried no signs and exhibited no anguish about the future of the children. And NOW they are upset?

XXXX

Accountability, they say. I hope your letter is printed. It is short and right to the heart of the matter.

The writer made a crude sexual reference about President Clinton...in my letter I had compared Bush to Clinton's success in balancing the budget and producing a surplus in the Treasury. So somehow I was "servicing" Clinton sexually...these people are SO predictable, aren't they?

11. Teapartiers love wars started by the US
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 05:58 PM by lunatica
Especially kick ass wars where our superior weapons can wipe them off the face of the earth. They identify with the US as a military superpower and fear that Obama is making friends and maybe stopping wars of entitlement. Wars waged just because we want to wage them.

They don't want to be equal to other countries. They want to be the Sole Superpower baddass on the planet forever.

They so believe in wrapping themselves in the American flag that they literally do it by wearing as much clothing, hats, boots, jewelry, and scarves that depicts the flag as they can layer on because their patriotism is so great that they have to become the walking symbol of patriot.

This must be in the Cosmic Conscienceness now..I had to relate this information about bush to a co-worker friend of mine tonight when she started complaining about "all the money being spent".

I said Clinton left a huge surplus and bushcheney spent it all without anything to show for it ..President Obama & the Dems are spending for Recovery and are making sure they find ways to pay for it..and building a solid infrastructure for our country.

And, all the while Lies and cheap shots are being hurled at him from every which way.

21. Oh, the repukes just say that Obama has increased the deficit much MORE than
Bush. But Bush left the mess for Obama to clean up. If Bush were still in charge our economy would have collapsed by now...funny how NOT ONE of these republicans have come up with a solution they would have offered (except their mantra "tax cuts for the wealthy").

15. THE LAST 3 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTS HAVE ACCOUNTED FOR NEARLY 100% OF OUR INCREASE IN THE DEBT

Every President, from Truman to Nixon, steadily paid down the staggering debt that was run up in our fight against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. That pattern came to a screeching halt with Reagan/Bush and Bush. Clinton’s fiscal policy was a brief respite during this orgy of deficit spending.

Clinton balanced 5 budgets, which is 5 times as many balanced budgets as the last 5 Republican presidents combined.

President Obama, like President Clinton, inherited a sea of red ink and a recession from his predecessor. He, like President Clinton, recognizes the importance of getting America back to work and then getting our fiscal house in order.

?

See National Debt Graph @: http://zfacts.com/p/318.html

WHY DO REPUBLICAN ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES EXPAND THE NATIONAL DEBT?
-The answer is simple mathematics. Reduced revenue + increased spending ='s increased debt-

?

http://cedarcomm.com/~stevelm1/usdebt.htm

The two biggest promises of "Trickle Down Economics" are it's greatest failings. Proponents of "Trickle Down Economics” claim that tax cuts, skewed to the rich, will create jobs and increase tax revenues. The graph above disproves the latter claim. Job creation plummets under "Trickle Down Economics (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html )and nine of the last ten recessions have occurred under Republican leadership (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html ).

Two things are certain to grow when a Republican is in the White House, unemployment and the National Debt.

By contrast, "Bubble Up" economnic priciples practiced by Democratic Administrations put people to work, rev up the economy, and balance the Nation's ledger books. Every time. No exceptions.

22. The Teabaggers didn't know that Bush was clocking up a huge deficit
they had no clue what he was doing. They were pleased with his anti terra and tax cuts. They loved the way big corps were handling the economy.
