Connie Saltonstall Statement on Bart Stupak's Retirement
Connie Saltonstall Statement on Bart Stupak's Retirement

I want to thank Bart Stupak for his years of outstanding service, to not only the people of this district, but all the people of Michigan.

Voters are hungry for fresh, new ideas and change. I entered this race becauseI am a regular person, who like so many others, is frustrated with Washington and their failure to listen to us and put our priorities first. That’s why people have continued to rally around this campaign and our message of changing the focus in Washington to what matters, making sure that we do everything we can to create new jobs and protect the jobs we have.

I am excited about this campaign and the growing energy and momentum we are building that will propel us to victory in November. Please visit our website at www.conniesaltonstall.com

1. No good deed..or attempt to act on principles, goes unpunished.

2. Stupak made a gambit and it blew up in his face.
He was hoping to sneak in some anti-abortion language, and get it pushed through with his blackmail. In the end, not only did he fail to get enough votes for his blackmail to work, but he pissed off both the progressive wing of the Democrats for being anti-abortion, and he pissed of the teabaggers for "betraying them" and voting "pro-choice". He just ended up pissing everyone off, and now he sees the writing on the wall and bailed out.
