Obama on Presidency: One Needs 'Pretty Thick Skin'

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama says he finds harsh rhetoric from political opponents ''troublesome'' and says such talk isn't surprising in times of economic distress and sweeping societal changes. "

"He tells CBS a president has to have ''pretty thick skin'' and said he worries about a climate in which ''the other side is demonized'' by political opponents. "

"Obama says in ''The Early Show'' interview Friday there is a ''tone and tenor'' that needs to be improved and said people in both the public and private walks of life must be able to ''disagree without being disagreeable or making wild accusations about the other side.'' He was asked about verbal attacks by political opponents who have questioned his patriotism and his religion and accused him of being a socialist. "

3. 'Thick skin,' eh?
That pretty much precludes a serious campaign on the part of the Wasilla Quitta, doesn't it?

I'm glad that Mr. Obama is getting out front with all the outlandish claims made by the propellerheads, as it serves to marginalize their woo.

5. Wonder why all the capitulating to the right, though?
I wish the right would for once be interested in going with a progressive idea. We have moved so far right that what was considered extreme right today is now considered a vomit-inducing too far left...wtf? I mean, Romney care is what passed for the new health insurance plan which is definitely right but most on the left think it is revolutionary and a win for the left...(scratching head).
