I AM ABOUT DONE WITH MR. KUCINICH (He is our Party's Ron Paul)
Edited on Tue Mar-16-10 07:20 PM by Perky
No other Congressman is holding a press conference to announce they are for or against the bill except for Stupak. What makes you so damn special that you think you command this sort of "whatever"

There is no upside to this grandstanding. He says he is going to vote no, the GOP touts it. He say he is going to vote for it and the GOP trots out his claim of UFO sighting and makes him exhibit one of the "Loony Left"

Just sit down Dennis,, you are going to wind up looking like our Party's Ron Paul.

The big question is will he have bigger stones if he flips and supports the bill or if he defies his party.

2. Dennis is the only one those sorry bastards that has the
stones to stand up and call a hill of shit a hill of shit. We should thank him for being the 0.1869% of congress that wants to do the right thing. I guess you could call having the courage of your convictions 'loony'. Think where we could be if Dennis was president instead of Obama.

In the real world, people understand that you can't get everything you want. You can bitch from the fringe but you'll never be taken seriously, which is why Kucinich snipes from his soap box.

He couldn't be elected President. He's just too far out there.

41. The truth is that DK is too far out there to be elected to a statewide office in Ohio.
He has risen as high in political life as he will ever go. He is the mouse that roared, he grandstands, makes noise, but actually accomplishes little of substance.

16. No we wouldn't
and it absurdrd to think so. He would be a one term president and anyone in the Senate who voted with such a policy would be in deep trouble their next election.

He would never get the votes to get such a thing done. And yes it does take money, Appropriations bills always have strings attached.

Line the planes up on the tarmac, put the troops on them and bring them home. It's that simple. If the people in the middle east want to live in the 12th century, so what? Let them. Let the Iraqis drink their oil.

65. It's so frightening to even ponder where we would be if Dennis Kucinich were president.
Dealing with a Congress that would be trying to impeach him for doing whatever he pleased, without regard for the law or anyone else's opinion.

And fearing that when he didn't get his way, a President Kucinich would declare martial law.

44. Escalated our wars?
If that were singular, you'd be kind of right. Were you still laboring under the misapprehension that all 30,000 troops going to Afghanistan were combat units?

As to Iraq: "CRS estimates that average troop strength in Iraq will decline to 135,600 in
FY2009, 88,300 in FY2010, 42,800 in FY2011, and 4,100 in FY2012."
From http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/R40682.pdf

That doesn't seem like "escalation"...

I find it funny that you mention "I am about done with Mr. Kucinich", as my suspicion is that you are a conservaDem who was never "with" him in the first place, and only here to slander his name now. Just to satisfy my curiosity, could you please provide a link to at least one pro-Kucinich post of yours here on DU? You know...from before the time when you were "about done" with him?

In many respects they're worse than Republicans- and here's news:

there are millions of others just like me.

If so called "mainstream" Democrats think they can keep panderng to the corporate right- giving big money quid pro quo's to such popular groups as health insurers, the hospital lobby . PhARMA- and coming up next, the myriad Wall Street interests, while tossing out a bone here and there to ordinary Americans- and not suffer the consequences at the polls down the line they're living in a fantasy land.

51. Remember Sir William Wallace? Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket?
Dennis Kucinich is the Sir William Wallace of Democrats. Even Scottish Nobles betrayed Wallace for their own gain, bribed by English nobles. Many of our democrats accept money from corportions, insurance companies & big pharma. My own Democratic Senator Lincoln Blanche is one of the biggest corportion whores, the one of the worst. Why aren't we attacking her?

Many of our own Democrats in the Whitehouse are like Pinocchio. They keep changing stories. Broken promises. Lies. Even Obama promised the public option if I understand correctly. Dennis is there as their Jiminy Cricket. He is their conscience. He is there to remind them of their promises. He is there to stand for us The People. He doesn't want HCR Bill to pass without the public option. I do not blame him one bit.

Why would a good democrat want to get rid of him, primary him like KOS is threatening...??? We need someone like him in our party.

Of course I do want to see this HCR passed, but I would never kick Dennis like that.
