George Will on "This Week" is being an idiot again.

He brings up the issue of buying insurance across state lines. That Geico and others advertise.

So insurance companies don't sell auto insurance based on the insured's location. I guess he never figured out why they need to know where he lives first plus other information before determining the premiums.

You car insurance premiums most definitely are affected by where you live. You will pay more if you live in a "bad" neighborhood, or if you don't park in a garage, or if you drive a longer distance to work.

But then a guy like Will probably has other people take care of menial stuff like driving and paying insurance premiums so he doesn't have to clutter his brilliant patrician mind.
