and he threatened to resign and let the Democratic Gov of Ky appoint his replacement if the repuke powers that be interfere with his fundraising for his 2010 campaign.
He filibustered legislation that would have extended unemployment benefits for thousands, among other things. Because of this, those benefits end Sunday at midnight.

The Democratic establishment has empowered old right-wing pricks like this guy. If we'd acted like the majority party from the get-go, instead of just a bunch of spineless chumps, this kind of crap wouldn't be happening.....
11. When he was a baseball star, what were his attitudes toward the poor?
I know nothing about his history other than that he was a famous baseball player long ago. Have his attitudes changed, or have they just become more obvious and important now that he's a senator?
