I don't know where he's been, but I'm really happy to see him again and I hope to see him much more frequently in the future.

The Republicans made themselves look stupid but he really invited and enabled them to do so, and then gave them a few kicks in the ass to ice the cake. Welcome Back, Mr. President - we missed you.

FWIW, I watched the summit on CSPAN 3 streaming on my computer-if I had been relying on CNN for actual news, I'd be furious with them, but I gave up on them as a real news network about a year ago.

1. Is it soon enough?
I hope so. I guess time will tell. I would like to have seen this last year.

2. That's who I've seen for the last year
Then again, I was actually listening to him and not firedoglake tell me about him. Makes a huge difference.

4. maybe you just fall for the Gibbs spin?
see how easy that is to do, in accusing others for the problems. Facts are that they failed getting HCR done. Obama even had to admit it, and essentially, try HCR:2. A large portion of Democrats do pay attention to the WH's actions, not CNN/Faux's BS commentary.

Now that he has his feet under him again, I think he is fine.

26. Let's see --
THe President I voted for:

- was against madatory purchaser of health insurance
- was for a robust public option to keep insurance companies honest
- was a Constitutional scholar who would fight for the civil rights of Americans
- was for the reimportation of drugs and negotiation of drug prices by the government

I could go on.

That guy I voted for has not seen at all the past year. And I didn't need "media spin" to tell me that.

5. The two posts above this blame the people and the media
respectively.

Shouldn't Obama have the resources and wit to reach the people through or around the media?

At what point is it the Administration's fault for failing to reach the people?

8. No, Pres. Obama doesn't have the "recources" to reach the people
around the media, if the media is working hard to make sure it doesn't happen.
Sure, he still above water.....which is why they are working harder than ever.
If you don't see it, then you just don't want to see it.

And yet, he is still reaching enough of the people........so too bad for you.

12. I disagree
He needs to go around the congress and use the media, to go straight to the people just as the Esteemed Ronald Reagan did. Oval Office prime time addresses, town halls, youtube, get on to Fox News, call in to Limbaughs show, challenge Beck, et al to put up or shut up, etc to get his message out. I think he has not always done so in the manner that reaches the people the best.

28. He certainly does NOT need to challenge the dumbasses at Fox News......
and again, when the media cuts off your microphone, what is one supposed to do?
I think he's tried a whole lot.....but again, he fighting the forces,
and it ain't that easy.....except for those talking about it while sitting somewhere.

17. He has a job to do. A very big and very busy job to do. He's not bush..
He's doesn't consume all of his time catapulting the propaganda. He doesn't have time for that. In case you haven't noticed, he has apparently used his time to educate himself about the issues he faces. I for one, see it and appreciate it.

25. With some here --
it will ALWAYS be anyone else but O's fault. Just as the "true" Bush supporters were right there with him until the day he left office, some of the "true" O believers will be loving him regardless til the day he steps on Marine One for the last time.

O has had the power the entire time, The power to push the Dems, the power to byspass the media and go directly to the people (we've seen him do it repeatedly when he wanted to), the power to set an agenda, the power of appointments, the power of the fucking Presidency of the United States of America.

Don't ever let anyone try to convince you other wise.

16. You've been relying on the filter of others who don't have his or America's
best interest at heart. That includes a lot of liberals too. My motto for years has been that unless I see it with my own eyes or hear it with my own ears, to take "news" reporting with a grain of salt.

22. I was watching CNN in my home office, the TV there doesn't get CSPAN3 ...
But I had to turn CNN off and switch to the internet feed.

CNN was constantly cutting away from the Dems, letting some right leaning commentator say some nonsense ... and then jumping back and showing the GOP speakers in total ... I wanted to scream.
