It's utterly frustrating
to see how deep is the gap between president Obama and virtually the rest of the room. His mastering in the material, intellect and sharpness is so above them all - it's almost insulting to even call this a "debate".

8. They were elected due to their cultural values - not their intelligence.
On occasions like this its so apparent.

3. You have to cut the pubs some slack. They're in the impossible
position of having to defend a pack of lies. Don't ya hate it when that happens?

4. There will absolutely no mention that Obama was not using a teleprompter
You can count on that from Fixed Noise blowholes.

5. Imagine if W tried this.
 This is so good, I want more!!! Obama has opened the door, I hope more people are as interested in seeing this become a part of our democracy as much as the Senate and Congressional debates, which bore the shit out of me most times.

Thank you, Mr. President.

6. I hate to say this but...
.... I think the whole thing would have been more effective it had been JUST the President and the GOP. SOME Of the Dems have done well with their arguments, but a LOT more could have been addressed with fewer Dems in the room.

But I do understand it's an election year and it never hurts to have Dems rubbing shoulders with a popular President on such a hot button issue.

9. Good point. But I think it's time the democrats start to
get some comfort from being on the same page with each other. I want them to get more comfortable having each other's back face to face and I just want them to vote something, I don't care if it's a damn dog-catcher regulation, something, anything, just to get over the hump and realize what they can do and how much respect they can get if they just DO SOMETHING!

11. True, but Clio, it was good to hear the Dems speak on the record
sometimes I wonder what's really going through their minds. They say one thing in public and who knows what they say to each other. At least this is on public record.

I don't think the GOP will agree to do this again. They didn't like the Professor-President, and they sure didn't care for the Facilitator-President today!

I sure did enjoy it, though.

Nancy, Dick Durbin, Louise Slaughter to name a few, kicked some ass.

10. Best part of the day for me
was the McCain smackdown, where the President agrees with him and McCain
looking like a smug..... just perfect.
