I'm wondering when the summit is "actually" going to start since I'm not too interested in hearing a lot of chitchat before the thing actually begins...

I'm having that feeling like I had before that infamous Q&A.

Just think, the GOP devised a plan in the winter of '09 to block anything the President tried to do. They knew ALL they'd have to do is offer every amendment known to man during the committee process and filibuster! filibuster! filibuster! during debate! If they did that long enough, they'd break the President's will and he'd abandon his agenda ... a broken man.

But NO!!!!

Now they have to MARCH their happy butts down to the White House (or across the street from it anyway) and then sit there ... ON CAMERA ... FOR SIX HOURS ... and either try to actually have a reasonable discussion with the ONE MAN who can destroy them ... or try to out-argue THE SMARTEST POLITICIAN of OUR GENERATION!!!!

The Hill has a small strategy scoop on the GOP tactic in the health-care debate: House Minority Leader John Boehner is planning to "crash" the bipartisan health-care summit on Thursday. A House GOP leadership aide told the newspaper that, during a closed-door Republican meeting earlier today, Boehner appealed to his colleagues by saying, “We shouldn’t let the White House have a six-hour taxpayer-funded infomercial on Obamacare. We need to show up. We need to crash the party.”

Personally, I’d love to see a hilarious C-Span-gone-Wedding-Crashers incident, something that involves Boehner attempting to disguise himself as a Democrat to gain entry to the Blair House, à la Vince Vaughn. And it would fit in nicely with the overarching Republican lament of being shut out of health-care reform. There's only one small problem with the "crash" scenario: namely, that the Republicans were invited to the bipartisan health-care summit. Republicans can take issue with whether their ideas are actually incorporated into the Democrats' bill. But I don’t see any way in which they can position the specific summit as an event they were barred entry from, one they must "crash," given that their names are on the invitation.

Perhaps they plan to "attack" the President with his "lies" or heck I dont know. If I were in their position, I wouldn't know what to do either.

24. I really think the White House is prepared for this scenario.

They know this can happen. They know the pukes will lie and distort. They are prepared to deal with the objections.

Obama might even call them out on their "crashing" the summit. He'd do it with humor and really kill them with it...I can see it now.

No way Obama isn't going to be ready for them. Since they have "nothing" they are going to be at a real disadvantage...of course, they will try the old "government take over of health care" routine but I think Obama will be ready for that one...

Can't think of what they're going to say that Obama hasn't already thought about and gotten his answer ready...
