4. It still baffles me the ARGUMENT AGAINST the Public Option or Single Payer...
Edited on Mon Feb-22-10 10:15 AM by quantass
or rather the lack of constructive argument and then embracing a more restrictive, more flawed solution as if it were the ONLY solution. It's very strange to watch how the politicians and media all play their part in ignoring the will of the people. Mr. President, either you're underestimating the power of the Bully pulpit or you too have been compromised by industry. The proper solution is obvious.

5. No public option.

7. "Not a huge surprise"...I knew it all along.
Anyone who expected a public option proposal from this president would have to have been living on Mars...for at least a year or more.

A Public Option was NEVER something the president intended to include in this "reform."

He was playing us, then denied he ever HEARD of it.

Edited on Mon Feb-22-10 10:17 AM by quantass
I mean, if i were the insurance companies "great" you have extra money to pay for another price increase. And on, and on, and on...

9. No one ever said it did. What does is the new "Health Insurance Rate Authority"
I don't understand why you would throw a misleading argument like that into the mix. It's like asking what health care reform has to do with improving infrastructure.

Sorry, can't copy from the document at the link, but you could try reading it.

It's under the section "Strengthen Oversight of Insurance Premium Increases." It talks about a new federal authority that will have oversight at federal level and help states in enforcement.

10. A year wasted to get this? Really?
All that bellowing of his personal greatness during the campaign, and this is what he has to offer when the moment comes?
He ran against mandated purchase, in favor of a public option, said 'any bill I sign must have a public option'. He lied. He simply lied.
