CNN Poll: Tea Party Bigger Than You Think
February 17, 2010

Tea Party Bigger Than You Think

A new CNN/Opinion Research survey finds that roughly 11% of all Americans say they "have actively supported the Tea Party movement, either by donating money, attending a rally, or taking some other active step to support the movement."

Another 24% of the public generally favors the Tea Party movement but has not taken any actions such as donating money or attending a rally.

4. When a group of 600 can garnet as much time as they did,
you know the fix is in!

I tried to watch CNN today, and had to shut it off.
It was pathetic....the lies and the arrogance were too much
for me to bear. No discussion on the Hypocrisis of the Republicans,
just acting like the Recovery Act might have worked or maybe not.
It was pitiful!

6. Propped, organized, and funded by Fox..
and given a lot of attention by CNN.

If the left got the same media attention
and encouragement, there's no telling
how much evil would have been avoided.

Right now, all we're doing is descending
into more chaos.

proves it's a bunch of shit brought to us by the GOP and their media (which is just about
95% of what we read and see).

anti Bush groups? I didn't even watch much back then and I know the unfortunate answer. NO! I hate the media nothing but an extension of the Republican Party.

14. Bullshit on CNN.
The US Census Bureau at this moment estimates the US population at 308,706,069.

Eleven percent is almost 34 million.

Does anyone really believe, outside CNN and Fox, that there are that many teabaggers?

In many places, they'd fit in phone booth fer cryin' out loud.

Flashback to August 22, 2002, the protest against the Iraq invasion. I'm quite sure more than 11% of Americans opposed this and millions poured into the streets, my family included.

CNN, Fox 'News' and my local newspaper IGNORED us.

17. The tea party is a scam...
It is just the furthest right wing of the Republican Party pretending to be some new grass roots movement. It is the same activists as before, but they were smart enough to realize the Republican brand was shot after Jr's 8 years.

The entire thing is a complete fraud. Palin, Fox News and the rightwing radio folks will make sure the tea party doesn't actually become something truly independent of the GOP. You can already see this with their emphasis on calling it a Tea Party "movement" rather than a true political party. That is the whole reason they make sure to say it needs no leaders.

The right wing is already abandoning it. Slowly ofcourse, but they are. The tea party "movement" will always have some additional value to them as a place to dump their looniest folks. The GOP can confine their nuttiest people under the banner of the tea party so they can't be blamed for having a bunch of racists, militia types pulling obnoxious stunts as Republicans.

There is no real tea party though. The entire thing was created and used as a way to oppose Obama because they couldn't do it under the banner of the Republican Party.

That was his first appearance in three fucking years. Put that in perspective, a liberal with the all time highest grossing documentaries is on once in three years. 600 racist fucks got more coverage in a week than he got in three years.

Here is a letter I am sending to every officer of every possible Democratic group. Please join me in forwarding this message.
____________________________________________________________________________________

"Not only are they racist they are SEXIST. A tea party leader today called for Washington, Senator Patty Murray to be "HANGED."

It is time for your group to wake up. The Tea Party movement is a masked movement of racist sentiment. Why have you all been so quiet about this? Have you seen the signs that these people are bringing to these events? Did you hear the speech by Tom Tancredo the other night?

If you want this president to be remembered well, you all need to join up with other liberal groups and stand up to these nuts.

While I don't take the movement all that seriously, I think we can dent the numbers and reduce them further, or at the very least split them among different RW factions.

27. I think that for the most part as was stated above. They are the same asshole right wingers
that have been making noise for years except that they know they'll get nowhere under the Republican "brand". That doesn't mean every single one of those poor suckers fall into that category but i think the majority do. They've just managed to pick up a few more overweight old ass bigots along the way.

news have any credibility. Maddow. Olbermann. Shultz. (Stewart) Sad but cable news has become the laugh riot it should never have become. Most opinion journalism stinks. The only fact based opinion journalism worth watching are the ones I've mentioned.

Tea Party faction = Republican party. There is no difference. It's to foment the grassy-rootsy look but they are one in the same.
