Last nite the Bidens had an early Thanksgiving dinner for wounded soldiers.

Snips~

Last night was a particularly heart-warming night. Several soldiers and wounded warriors who were recovering at local Fisher Houses and their families joined Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden at their home for a family-style Thanksgiving meal. "I think it was a wonderful thing that the vice president and his wife did to open their home to soldiers and wounded warriors," Army Sgt. First Class John Wright said. "The hospitality was amazing, the conversation was great. I sat right next to Dr. Biden for part of the meal, and the other part of the meal, the vice president sat down with me. The conversation was common folk conversation. It was Anywhere, USA."

The generous and gracious vice president spoke with his guests: soldiers and 35 other wounded warriors, military families and other special guests while hosting the dinner. He noted that while he has hosted dinners for presidents, heads of state and famous world leaders, he said that he's never felt "such honor as with your presence here today, and I mean that sincerely."

"One thing I've tried to do is to say to American families, 'Reach out to a military family in your community'. It doesn't matter what you're doing. Take them cookies. Put a wreath on the door. Stuff a stocking. Take some books over for their children. Whatever it is, reach out to a military family and say, 'Thank You.' (Dr Jill Biden's words)

Seriously - how cool is this? You never saw the last VP open up his home and his heart to our wounded soldiers....oh yeah, he didn't have a heart ;)

Enough bull shit Jill. Just bring them home. That's what the soldiers want. That's what their loved ones want. That's what the American people want! Bring them home.

Now how "cool" would that be?

3. Biden TRIED to talk Obama out of sending more troops to Afghanistan from the beginiing.
As I'm sure you have heard by now.

5. Maybe he did. I hope so. But, how do you know the details of discussions between Biden and Obama?
Do you have a credible source who attended those discussions or is that just speculation based on unnamed sources?

Now he may not favor sending more troops to Afghanistan but that's not good enough. The people want all the troops home.

In any case, I don't recall him publicly advocating the withdrawl of all U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Iraq.

But if he did, please post the news link.

6. Well first of all, if you watch msnbc - including Keith and Rachel - you would have heard
how Biden was part of the reason why it was taking Obama so long to make up his mind on what to do in Afghanistan because Biden has questioned McCrystal's demand for more troops.

Here's some reading for you:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/29/magazine/29Biden-t.html?pagewanted=5 (section 6)
A trip to Afghanistan in the weeks before the new administration took office persuaded Biden that the U.S. military had no clear plan for victory. In the ensuing internal debate over so-called AfPak policy, Biden argued for a narrow definition of success — suppressing Al Qaeda — and no new troops. He lost. Obama added 21,000 new troops; and though he adopted the narrowed goal Biden favored, the new policy asserted that a broad nation-building enterprise would be needed even for this more modest goal.

I'm not going to post the whole article, but if you are sincerely interested, continue reading the rest of sect 6.

10. I read the article. The author pointed out that:
"Biden was not willing to discuss on the record the advice he gave the president ...."

So my points are we really don't know the details of his discussions with President Obama on Afghanistan and most importantly I've not seen any credible reports indicating that Vice-President Biden favors the withdrawl of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

Want to really help the soldiers and their loved ones?

Bring them home. And if enough demand that, especially among the soldiers, Biden and Obama will have to bring them home.

Enough GI's in Iraq and Afghanistan have lost their lives or been wounded in vain.

How many more is enough?

12. The fact is that these people were in our wars and got wounded...
Rather than put a yellow ribbon on their cars that say Support the Troops, the Bidens invited them over to dinner.
They didn't need to do that.

We have troops in Iraq and Afghanistan whether we agree with it or not. And when they are wounded, it's a refreshing change to have an administration that acknowledges them.

18. I fully support what you saying.
What I don't support is the need for a larger table for all the newly wounded that will need a seat as a result of Obama's new war.

Obama's war is not a moral war or a war of necessity. Too many soldiers will die and bear the wounds of Obama's reckless decision.

16. You're kidding right?
Demanding links from someone when you yourself post nothing but bullshit OPINION pieces full of "unamed sources" and use them as FACT to slam Obama?

You're not only pathetic but you've proven yourself to be a joke.

If you spent half your time listening to FACTS that have been presented instead of digging through the internet for any and all stories that fit your agenda, you'd know that Biden did in fact get in Obamas ear about not sending more troops.

Honestly, you're clueless.

13. And yet, the M$M treats the Bidens like a piece of shit; meanwhile...they praise Sarah Failin',
giving her airtime as if she's the fucking VP. And they roll out the freakin' red carpet for Dick and his low-life daughter. :puke::puke:

It is insane. Even when Stewart had Biden on his show, and the next nite he did a segment of all the talking heads talking about what Biden said....there was nothing. It was all about palin. Wtf?
