Evan Bayh concedes that First Amendment allows Lefty bloggers to criticize him

(Clip on HARDBALL)

That's so big of him to concede that.

The First Amendment is so sweeping that it even allows citizens of a democracy to criticize elected officials... even officials obviously above rational criticism, like Evan Bayh.

I'm getting a little choked up here...

I hate to break it to you Evan, but criticizing a lame like you isn't exactly the nazis marching in Skokie. It's not a tough-case, a technical side effect of the First Amendment. Criticizing you is the most direct fricking purpose of it...

To protect public criticism of incompetent and corrupt public officials.

1. Bayh's wife is also fair game on account of her ties to the health industry
Had Evan Bayh been a judge, he would have been expected to recuse himself from any case involving any of the corporations in which Susan Bayh serves as an officer.

3. True - it's his wife he was whining about. No clue about the conflict of interest. nt

2. Does he think that only bloggers are criticizing him?
There are a lot of his supporters that are criticizing him since he pulled out.

7. He threw every incumbent Democrat under the bus today with his comments this morning.

I was shocked when I read them. What kind of Democrat complains of partisanship and then seems to only want to hurt Democrats in November by telling the American public to vote out all incumbents suggesting they are all corrupt. He doesn't see more unwillingness from Republicans to work with Democrats? Any respect I had for this man is gone. What a coward. When the job gets tough he whines and quites. Perhaps, this side of him was seen by Kerry and Obama when they were choosing VP's and this is why Bayh was not offered the spot. I hope we do not lose this seat to a Republican, but I think it is a good thing he is leaving with an attitude like his.

Disillusioned Bayh advocates electoral “shock” to broken system
