Obama to Campaign for Reid in Nevada
Now that the Tea Party will be on the ballot in Nevada, giving Reid a fighting chance to save his seat, perhaps we can mull how to replace the inept Reid as Majority Leader next year. Durbin perhaps?

Obama to Campaign for Reid in Nevada

February 12, 2010 6:19 PM

President Barack Obama will head to Nevada next week to hold events with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), whose popularity back home continues to lag in the months leading up to his re-election contest.

Obama will be in Las Vegas on Friday to host events with Reid that "include discussions with citizens and business leaders about working together to address ... the economic challenges facing Nevada and the rest of America," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters Friday.

Gibbs said he didn't know whether the events were fundraisers. But the public appearances with Obama can only help Reid: Public polls have shown that a smattering of GOP challengers -- former state Sen. Sue Lowden, Las Vegas real estate developer Danny Tarkanian and former state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle -- all lead Reid in hypothetical matchups. Reid, who has $8.7 million in his campaign war chest, is considered one of the Senate Democrats' most vulnerable incumbents this cycle.

Before hitting Nevada, Obama will also travel to Denver on Thursday to deliver remarks at an event for Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), who also faces a tough re-election campaign

1. Harry might catch a break if the tea party candidate gets some support.
But I will not shed any tears if he loses in Nov.

6. His negatives are so high, the teabagger would have to get close to double digit support or more
to swing it.

2. Reid is Obama's guy.
He looks inept so Obama doesn't have to.
