Photos: The Float that We Have Been Waiting For

And by "WE" I mean JUST me. ;)

(Alternate title, "Hope Floats?")

A float called "Yes we can be ecologist", depicting U.S. President Barack Obama, parades during the 126th edition of the Nice Carnival, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, in Nice, southern France. The carnival celebrates the theme "King of the Blue Planet".

Note: Someone asked earlier what he was holding and I said "broccoli" but I'm changing my answer to "a tree."

And since I fully expect at least two of you to point how how disgusted you are that the highest ranking civil servant in the land is receiving pop-icon recognition, consider the fact that in just a little over a year the symbol of American leadership has become a smiling, larger than life, Earth-loving super hero figure and is no longer this guy....

A float depicting U.S. President George W. Bush being spanked by the Statue Of Liberty passes by during the Rose Monday carnival parade in Mainz, western Germany, on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007. Thousands of spectators attended the traditional street carnival parade in the state of Rhineland-Palatinates's capital.

.... is perhaps not the best medium for lifelike representations.

(For that, you gotta use granite or marble.)

Or cake frosting...

(I'm not just an Obama apologist, I'm also an Obama FLOAT apologist.)

12. Even though I find that caricature aesthetically unappealing and its theme fairly abstruse
I love it due to the heads in freeperland that will explode if they see the pictures. Someone with an account over there needs to post a link to those photos
