GOP/Teabagger candidate for TX governor exposes herself as "9/11 Truther" to Glenn Beck
Texas Tea Party candidate has 9/11 doubts

From the Statesman, an instance where the Tea Party movement bleeds damagingly into the fringe:

Republican gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina, a Wharton businesswoman and activist whose insurgent campaign has been gaining steam for a month, may have hit a major speed bump today.

Radio host Glenn Beck, saying he was responding to e-mails he got from listeners, asked Medina in a national interview this morning whether she believed the U.S. government was involved in the September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

“I don’t have all of the evidence there Glenn so I’m not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that,” Medina said. “I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard, there are some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that"....

After the interview, Beck, who holds sway with many Republican primary voters, said, “I think I can write her off the list.”

Medina, active in the state's Tea Party movement, had been gathering steam in the conservative grassroots.

5. Well
I guess she just isn't crazy enough for Beck! In order for Beck to promote someone, it looks like you have to be crazy as hell, but also all your crazy ideas have to be about the left, not the right! It's amazing how some one as crazy as Beck and sway anyone, but then again it's also amazing how many crazies follow this moron's every word!

8. Well, if she had said the OBAMA admin. was involved in the 9/11 attacks, Beck would be all FOR

it. He creates new conspiracies every day involving Obama's admin., and he claims not to be a Repub. OR a Dem., so you'd think he'd embrace her 9/11 conspiracy theory. Just more hypocrisy from Beck.

12. The truthers are disgusting.
Conspiracy theories have no place in politics. If they did, Lyndon LaRouche would be President by now.

13. Like the conspiracy theory that there were "NO WMDs in IRAQ?"
Oh wait that was true, there were not WMDs in IRAQ.

Smart people know that the label 'conspiracy theory' can be applied to any point of view that the elite and the powerful want to marginalize.

Believe what you want on 9/11. Asking questions, demanding answers is PATRIOTIC. Marginalizing people for dissenting is a not AMERICAN.

16. She said nothing wrong, good for her
She merely answered that she doesn't know, and doesn't have all the evidence. She then stated that there are questions left unanswered, which there were. Glen is a neo-con blowhard, screw him. She is a paleo-libertarian.

17. I saw her on Houston news last night saying she's not a truther.
This from today's Houston Chronicle:

Medina later issued a statement saying she does not believe the government was involved in the attacks. She said Beck surprised her with the question on his show.

“I have never been involved with the 9/11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11,” the statement read. “I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way.”

19. The better she shows, the better for Texas Democrats.
She could make it a race between her and Gov. Good Hair, and we might be able to beat the winner of that battle. I think KBH will be tougher to beat in the general election. Her problem is getting out the primary, so that's where I want to see her get beat.

Medina hard charging is good for us, because this little drama is the Tea Baggers turned against their GOP masters. This is not what the GOP had in mind for the Tea Bagger Nation.
