"On daily show was wrong re: ShoeBomber citizenship, was thinking of Padilla. Treating terrorists like criminals wrong no matter who is Pres.

1. So then he was making the rounds complaining about it when Bush was president?
Odd, I don't remember that.

2. But Newt SUPPORTED treating Padilla like a criminal
Here is his statement:

Appearing on Fox News in November 2005, the former speaker said the following when asked whether it was "a loss" for the Bush White House to have tried Padilla in civilian courts after holding him for three-and-a-half years as an enemy combatant:

"Well, I think if they believe they have enough evidence to convict him, going through the process of convicting him and holding him, I suspect, maybe for the rest of his life without parole would not be -- would hardly be seen as a loss," Gingrich said.

3. Mere facts and consistency have never slowed Newt's motormouth...
...the one thing you can rely on when Newt is pushing an agenda is that he will say ANYTHING that will feed red meat to his target audience.

4. I don't tweet, but if I did--@Newt
You're wrong about a lot, including what this country and its legal tradition is about. If terrorists aren't criminals--what? Warriors? Don't flatter'em. Just treat'em like scum.

Also @ Newt:

Ur not in politics which makes me glad. U know less than McCain, and that is sad. Military commissions only convicted 3--makes me mad. LOL @ GOP--u sux.

Also @ Newt-- Y is terrorists not people? Because human rights is still foundation of this country--y/n? Declaration of Independence cites rights of People--not citizens of any nation. Declaring new nation = prefer human rights.

I don't tweet--hard to think in limited characters for me. Glad Newt has adapted to thinking in narrow strictures, tho'.
