Another day, another stupid comment by Michael Steele
Edited on Tue Feb-09-10 02:44 PM by ProSense

Foot, mouth, Michael Steele

by Jed Lewison

Via Greg Sargent, Michael Steele suggests that media coverage of his tenure as RNC chief is motivated by racism (emphasis added):

"I don't see stories about the internal operations of the DNC that I see about this operation. Why? Is it because Michael Steele is the chairman, or is it because a black man is the chairman?"

It is true that Newt Gingrich said that some Republicans aren't comfortable with Steele because he's African-American, but Steele is attacking the media with his rhetorical question.

Moreover, Steele himself has spent much of the year attacking Democrats for playing "the race card" to defend President Obama. Media Matters points to some examples:

STEELE: I'm kinda sick and tired of the left and Democrats in this country when they get in trouble and don't get their way and their backs are up against the wall on legislation or whatever it is their trying to do, they go to that card, they play that race card, that slavery card, that civil rights card.

Dear MS, you're a token and a tool. You belong to a Party that consistenly gets an F on civil rights, is filled with racists and is always the focus of intense scrutiny because of moronic actions and claims (see Ken Mehlman).

Idiot!

1. That could be one of the most self defeating comments
he's ever made and there's been too many of them already.

Which is good for Democracy.

2. Like him or hate him, Tim Kaine has more class and common sense in his little
toe than Steele has in his whole thick head.

3. If the Democratic National Committe chairman were alive
I'll bet he'd have something to say in response.

4. Well he's close...
Its true that rank and file republicans don't like him because he's black. I don't like him because he's an idiot.

6. He would be close if he were actually accusing Republicans, but
the idiot is accusing the media of being racist while ignoring his own party's record.

11. Most of the media stories about the internal operations of the RNC under Steele
have been recitations of complaints by republicans.

9. He is an animated programed Potemkin village
He is the perfect disguise for a society and foreign policy based upon brutal force, inequity, racism, and class warfare.

Having an Afro-American RNC chief for a fascist junta is the ultimate hypocrisy. How does one address a walking, talking, living, breathing lie? In substance his persona is completely impotent, delivering the PR message designed by his corporatist puppet masters.

That being said, Michael Steele still is a hip cat, you dig?

Michael got in bed with the devil :evilfrown: and now he says he is shocked by racism. And he feels the media is in on too.

No sympathy here buddy!
