Palin would lose any presidential debate, but...debates are voluntary and why would she accept
any if not to her advantage. Losing a debate that never happens will not keep Palin out of the WH if she runs.

After the SC ruling, thinking that 2012 or 2016 primaries or elections will be like anything we now have or know, is what will put Palin in the WH.

Candidates will audition before "shareholder selection committees", death panels for political parties.

TV spots will be like superbowl ads a million a minute and up.

1. Obama will have a real problem debating her. He's too much a gentleman.

4. Biden could have crushed her but didn't.
No sense in stirring up sympathy votes for her and McLame, I guess.

2. And if nothing else works
she can always rely on the Supreme Court to put her in the WH.

3. A lot of Americans don't care who "wins" a debate
Edited on Sun Feb-07-10 11:53 AM by ruggerson
All she has to do is stand there for ninety minutes and do her "I'm not an Ivy League elite" shtick and the media will eat it up.

5. The looser of any debate is who the media says it is...
Palin could debate Danial Webster, Abraham Lincoln, and the Devil and the media would declare her the winner.

(1) She will simply not answer any question she did not know, just spout campaign talking points written in the palm of her hand.

(2) She will give the sinky wink at every full pause.

(3) She will look like Jimmy Cagney singing "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy."

9. That's exactly right.
Bush was an idiot in both debates, but Gore sighed, and Kerry was supercilious or something, so Bush was declared the winner.

The one thing that will make or break Palin as a winning candidate is whether or not the Powers Behind the Throne believe she can take orders. If they want her to "win," she will "win."

11. All they need to do is to ask her husband...
That will determine the answer.

15. Kerry WON his debate
The fact is that everything else that year was stacked against the Democrats. He did as much as could be done with the debates. He was intelligent and gave concise, well thought out answers - with great dignity.

12. Nothing needs to be hidden. They will debate, but it won't matter.
All debates are manufactured events. They are expected as part of the dog and poney show. But they will be spun endlessly and no matter what you think happened three minutes after the debate, 24 hours later the world will see it differently.

Just the expectations game, alone, will be clinch a Palin win.

There will be constant spinning about how Palin is expected to do badly. They will then say that she exceded expectations.

Also, remember the squar buldge under Bush's coat? Now the electronics will be much smaller, and we simply won't know when she is just mouthing what someone is telling her.

13. Not accepting a debate would make her appear weak
Don't you think? Challenging her to a debate would be a win-win situation for the Democratic candidate.
