Shelby has handed a bullet to the Democrats
Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 08:45 AM by Armstead
Sen. Shelby holding up Obama's appointments FOR EARMARKS?

A prominent member of the party of "No earmarks, cut government spending, blah,blah,blah...." is playing hardball to push through earmarks.

Outrageously hypocritical.

The thing is this is business as usual in Congress -- just the scale that is spectacular.

It is a perfect example of how two-faced the GOP is. Wonder how the small government grass roots would feel about this if the reality hits home...Might cause some of them to stay home on Election Day, or at least dampen their enthusiasm.

Hope this gets big and the democrats Hammer Home the Hypocrisy of the GOP.

10. I want so badly to tell you just how wrong you are on that point...
...to eloquently express how little you know about the Democratic Party through charts, graphs, and statistics and thinly veiled insults aimed at painting you as a freeper troll. But, the fact is, you're absolutely right.

9. It is a shame that we don't OWN one just one news service
like the republicans do. That way these type of messages would get out to the public. Those media people we have now will never ever get this out to the public. And he did this because he knows democrats need 60 votes to over ride it, which I am pretty sure even Lieberman might vote for, and now that we don't, they are going to run rampant.

The democrats are so spineless. The should drop the cloture. And then go after the filibuster. Once they are gone they can do the work they were elected and leave the republicans sitting in the cellar where they deserve to be.

18. What are they afraid of then?
What will happen to them if they do all the courageous things you claim they should do?

If they had "guts" what price would they pay, and what are they risking?

12. Ha! POTUS invited Shelby to his Superbowl party...
.... Shelby declined of course but it just shows how far the WH is trying to take this "we're TRYING to work with the Republicans meme." (Or perhaps he really wanted a chance to talk to him in a more laid back setting, who knows? .... I mean "who knows dat?")

http://thepage.time.com/people-invited-to-obamas-super-bowl-party/

And apparently they NEED to keep pushing that meme .... my father (die hard socialist but only a passing interest in political news coverage) told me today "the Democrats won't LET the GOP do anything!"

You have a lot of work to do Mr. President.

15. This is the same ASSHOLE
who loudly opposed the 2008 bank bailout necessitated by years of unregulated financial markets, and now is blocking any regulation of those same markets.

Outrageously hypocritical indeed.
