Marsha Blackburn is a classless tool
I'm in the middle of watching Obama's Q&P (Question and Pwning) with the Repukes today, and I had to back it up to make sure I heard Blackburn right. Yep, in the middle of her talking point question to Obama, she refers to the "House Democrat leadership" and the "Democrat government".

What the hell is wrong with these people? They can't drop the schoolyard antics for one simple question?

1. It was PAINFUL listening to her. Could she BE any more condescending? On the post-show
with Rachel, KO and Tweety, Tweety called her on being a hypocrite. Asked why she hadn't addressed a single one of those important issues during her eight years in Congress.

3. I'm not usually one to cry "racism" at every opportunity...
but does anyone honestly think she'd have taken this tone with a white "Democrat" president?

10. No she wouldn't have. She was speaking as though she was talking to a
school child. It was awful!

I didn't used to be one to cry "racism" at every opportunity, but since Obama has become President, I'm inclined to do it more frequently. I get the impression that the good 'ol white boy clubs of the Senate and Congress are furious that their President is black.

Not just the hatred and vitriol, but this is a good example. She would swear up and down she's not racist, and she might actually believe that herself, but that was belied by how she addressed, and talked down, to him. :grr:

5. I liked the way he called her out on that.
People need to be reminded that the Republicans have done NOTHING for them over the past 10 years -- or the past 50 years, for that matter. They have gotten us into wars, they've run the economy into the ground, they have made corruption and torture "acceptable." We can't let them off the hook.

I'll admit that sometimes I get impatient with the president, wish that he would do what I want him to do all of the time, but of course that's not possible. I believe he is trying. I believe he has our best interests at heart. I hope he shames some of these people into doing the right things. If they refuse to learn, I hope their constituents show them the door.

11. Exactly - "What have YOU done? You had the Congress and Senate -- where
are the results?"

After the SOTU, I feel so much better! My frustration was that I thought so many of the issues we care about weren't on his radar, but now realize that not only are they, but he's working on them (or at least looking into them). I guess I thought he should be giving us daily updates to soothe our souls. :7 So now, and especially after his stellar showing yesterday, I'm MUCH more confident, optimistic, and dare I say it? -- hopeful! :hi:

2. I so wanted her to shut up this morning...
she went on and on and on. It was very clear that the Republicans were being disingenuous, trying to get their sound bytes in before the cameras. Boy, did that ever bite them in the ass!

There is nothing more annoying than an idiot who doesn't know she's an idiot.

7. Wish the Pres could have made a great comeback by saying "do you
mean the Democratic Party Leadership". What could her reply have been? "Yes, of course", or "No we call them the Democrat party." Would have been an interesting exchange. But it may have prevented the other questioners from using the same terminology, and several of them did.

8. Not to mention the fact that she was LYING about Tenncare....
In fact, in its first five years, TennCare was an astounding success. As this article points out, Tennessee enjoyed the lowest per capita cost of any Medicaid program in the country, and TennCare provided near-universal coverage by wringing up to $2 billion in savings out of the system.

Costs eventually skyrocketed, it's true, but that wasn't the fault of the system so much as its inept managers, mostly under the Republican Sundquist administration. So because Tennessee politicos screwed up TennCare, as they screw up just about everything else, that means America will never have universal health care? This kind of argument is about as mindless as accusing Democrats of plotting to pull the plug on grandma.

9. I just made that observation in another thread. Why do Democrats allow the Repukes to
disrespectfully refer to their party as the "DemoCRAT" rather than the "DemocraTIC" Party?

Tweety does generally call them out on it, as does Rachel, but most other Democrats seem to allow them to get away with it and I don't understand why.

The Repukes know damn well what they are doing and that it is meant as an insult. Palin does it and it makes my skin crawl! :puke::puke:
