The Tarrance Group poll has Ayotte at 43 percent, former gubernatorial candidate Ovide Lamontagne at 11 percent, and businessmen Bill Binnie and Jim Bender at 5 percent and 3 percent, respectively.
Ayotte hold a wide name recognition lead over all the other candidates, which helps account for her lead. While the poll doesn't provide specific numbers, it says her favorability is nine times higher than her unfavorability.
The poll was conducted Jan. 13-14 among 504 likely primary voters.
