Best burn moments of the SOTU?
I'll start off with one...

"I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific evidence on climate change."

Burn...

2. "Just saying no is not leadership".
I stood and clapped for that one. At 9-something oclock last night, out of my bed.

3. "That's how budgeting works"
"Meanwhile, China is not waiting to revamp its economy. Germany is not waiting. India is not waiting. These nations -- they're not standing still. These nations aren't playing for second place."

"The more that TV pundits reduce serious debates to silly arguments, big issues into sound bites, our citizens turn away."

5. Sad that this is what we're celebrating..
That this is what this administration has been so far. The we're celebrating "gotcha" moments in a speech instead of life-changing legislation, as promised.

9. Your comment
is incredibly myopic and pathetically judgemental. You really think everyone here is that two dimesional, and you have so much depth? Hardly. Your depth of character is nothing but a regurgitated memo, spouting the same old rhetoric that's been hitting these board the last few months...wah, wah, wah.

11. Bingo.
I mean just look at that big pile of unsigned life-changing legislation sitting on the president's desk while he's running around being uppity what with his speechifying and his teleprompters and whatnot.

15. Another vote for that one
It really shone the spotlight on the repubs sitting there like petulant children. "I'm just gonna sit here and pout because he's a big doodyhead."

12. As I read through each new one liner in this thread I go, "No, that one is my favorite!"
The man was on fire. But yes, the shot to the Democrats is the most important. It reminded the Dems who was boss--they are.

14. Two faves
The best ad lib of the night was "That is the way budgeting is done." Like taking an insolent brat to the woodshed!

Runner up was "Thought I might get a little applause there," but that was certainly a planned out "improv".
