The Best Cookie in the World.. Just sharing an election night at the DU is a winner
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 09:52 PM by Peacetrain
I was going to give this out if Coakley won.. but you know what.. forget that.. We all deserve a great cookie win or stump our toe..

The Best Cookie in the World...
Ingredients

* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 cup light brown sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1 cup vegetable oil
* 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 cups cornflakes cereal
* 3/4 cup rolled oats
* 1/2 cup flaked coconut
* 1/2 cup chopped pecans
* 1/2 cup chopped dates
* 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
2. Cream white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla together in a large bowl or dishpan. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the creamed sugar; mix until well combined.
3. Stir corn flakes, oats, coconut, pecans, dates and raisins into the dough. You will most likely need to use your hands to mix everything thoroughly. Shape the dough into 1 1/2 to 2 inch balls and press them down lightly onto a greased cookie sheet.
4. Bake in a preheated 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) oven for 10 to 14 minutes or until golden.

5. Thank you...Peacetrain, now
I'm looking for the bright side. brown has two years to prove what kind of a Senator he is and we'll just see..and, so will the people of Mass who voted for him.

We know the teabags won't care but those voters who crossed over might.

What a piece of work he is.

25. I don't know if its the combination of oats and cornflakes.. but honestly shireen
they really are not overly sweet from the sugars.. but if you were going to cut back on any of the sugars.. I would cut back on the white.. the brown sugar just adds something.

23. I think I get about 30 to 40 cookies out of it..depends on the spoon
I am dropping them with. This is actually a recipe that I got off the internet.. and I just halved the amounts..because.. it makes so much if you follow the full recipe.

They really are good.. My favorite cookie!! :)

Nothing like baking to lift one's spirits.

BTW, isn't one cup of sugar too much, plus the dark sugar too? Doesn't it make them too sweet?

:)

24. Great.. they make a great gift too lamp shade.. but they will leave
little oil spots if you put them on napkins.. so I just pile them directly on the plate. I mean they are not greasy, just one of the quirks of the cookie..

Copied and saved, and now printed. It's been rainy and cold in Los Angeles... I'll need cookies to go with my hot cocoa and Bailey's.
