Peter Orszag has a love child!
I have to admit, I didn't think he had it in him.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0110/NYPost_Orszag_love_child.html?showall

Some classic tabloid writing, and a serious dent in the geeky image of the director of the Office of Management and Budget, whose star has risen quite a bit over the last year:

President Obama’s budget guru has a secret love child — with the woman he jilted for his hot new fiance, The Post has learned.

White House budget director Peter Orszag’s ex, shipping heiress Claire Milonas, gave birth to little Tatiana Zoe in New York Nov. 17. That was just six weeks before Orzsag and ABC news babe Bianna Golodryga gleefully announced their engagement on national TV and in the press.

Orszag and Milonas, the daughter of New York-based Greek shipping magnate Spiros Milonas, were a serious item when he met the stunning Golodgryga at the White House correspondence dinner.

UPDATE: The joint statement from Orszag and his former girlfriend, Claire Milonas:

“We were in a committed relationship until the spring of 2009. In November, Claire gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Although we are no longer together, we are both thrilled she is happy and healthy, and we would hope that everyone will respect her privacy.”

The statement doesn't refer directly to his paternity and doesn't seem to anticipate her family's savaging him in the tabloids.

A source close to Orszag also denied the Post's assertion that he'd thrown Milonas over for his new fiancée, saying the second relationship began weeks after the first ended.

Congrats to both.

2. No comments...as it is not my business, and I don't have the inside scoop.
As long as both women appear to respect him, and he will be paying child support,
I'm done with this story.

After 9 weeks of Tiger Woods, I don't have anymore room for the dumbshit.
Not this year, anyways.

His only importance is how well he does his job and I think he does it well, from what I've seen.

That's what tabloids do and the coporatemedia acts like they love to emulate them.

6. Doesn't "love child" imply he was married and had a child with someone else?
Edited on Wed Jan-06-10 08:11 PM by jenmito
Sounds like he was in a relationship with someone, she got pregnant, THEN he met someone else and moved on, (cheating on her AFTER she got pregnant), they broke up, and the woman had the baby. I don't think that classifies as a "love child."

ETA: This line makes this whole story a NON-story: "A source close to Orszag also denied the Post's assertion that he'd thrown Milonas over for his new fiancée, saying the second relationship began weeks after the first ended."

I don't know what to think about this guy. I only hope he's paying for his own kid. As for that lovely Biyano Golandriga, what was she thinking? I hope she doesn't come running to us for pity when he does the same damn thing to her in years hence...repeat offender do repeat offenses...

9. Soo ? All I said is this has been known for a while. And BTW, an out of wedlock baby isn't
something to be proud of. All indications were this couple was going to get hitched. And then they didn't.And he finds a replacement less than a month later.Whatever. It just doesn't "look good" no matter what the circumstances.

12. Sounds to me like he got a better chance with the new one and decided to take
his Main Chance. Women do that, too, so I can't say it is sexist.

You take the better chance to have at the time you have it, seems to be the ethic here.

Anybody who believes in faithful love in marriage, well, shut up and sit down...

17. Stuck in the 1940's?
Nearly half of American babies are born out of wedlock, and by some estimates LESS than half of American children are born into marriages where the married couple are the biological parents. The stigma of an out-of-wedlock birth only lingers among bigots and conservatives.

You can disagree but it isn't just conservatives and bigots who think this is tacky. And wether the child born is the child of the biological parent is not at all relevant.

Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 09:07 AM by KoKo
Surely he could have waited? It's unseemly that he's so cavalier. He already has a former wife and two other children. Doesn't seem to take much seriously. Not a comfortable thought since he's head of the Nations Budget in a very perilous time. Shows a lack of character. If he were a Repug in the Bush Administration and Budget Director, I imagine there would be many more questions.
