2K10 Democrat Marching Orders: The Republican Brand is SHIT
All the claptrap about how Repuglicoids will do well in 2K10 is nonsense since we have the skinny on the monkey... the polling on peeps calling themselves Republicans is in the shitter... 20% at best in most polls.

Add the nonsensical claptrap from the self-appointed "leaders" of the GOP... Dick Cheney (sub-zero in most polls), Sarah Palin (woefully seen as an asshat and quitter), Rush Limbaugh (lucky if he lives to see November 2K10 based on his sub-performing ticker) and the Teabaggers (who represent the finest in unemployed, paranoid, racist fat fucks living in their Mommy's basement)...

We got this.

The Republican Brand is about as good as ticket sales for the Little River Band's aisle seats at Branson.

All we have to do is paint these mother fuckers as Last Century Stooges and we're Golden.

Bring it.

1. Sure would be easier to make that argument effectively
If Democrats hadn't become associated with such popular and beneficent groups like banksters, fraudsters, health insurers and Pharma- but rather had been perceived as having stood up and fought for traditional Democratic values.

As it stands today, there are going to be a lot of people thinking to themselves: "pot kettle black."

And all of the excuse making and all the whinging about "pragmatism" or "Blue Dogs" whether true or not- isn't going to amount to a hill of beans.

2. My argument is different: Voters OFTEN vote for shit
Edited on Mon Jan-04-10 09:48 PM by JelloSka
Examples are numerous. I agree that Republicans are shit. But they've been shit ever since I was born, yet they've unfortunately won often. Let's not understimate Americans' ability to shoot themselves in the foot.

4. Republican policies are equal to Democratic policies if you're from Planet Xoidnidt Sector 599
Otherwise, here on Earth, there is a big fucking difference.

3. It's called branding...
Of course, anyone can paint the Democrats in a purist, civics-challenged, sophomoric perception that they own companies, enjoy the dreaded capitalism and otherwise eat evil meat products, but the calculation is a little better than this "sordid" complicity.

We're talking about kicking the Republicans' ass. Not who can be Mother Theresa's uber-karmic, non-deist, mega-vegan, mild-mannered, pacifist druidist...

12. Branding via assocation has been on display for 10 straight months
and those associations- in as high a profile public manner than any reform fight in over a decade, reveal either:

A leadership with connections to and that makes backroom deals with health insurers and PhARMA (while leaving ordinary Americans at their "mercy"); or

A leadership that's too timid, compromised or conflict averse to go to the mat and fight for ordinary Americans; or

"we really did try, but we couldn't get 'er done because _____________(fill in the blank).

Brand Democrat:

More of the same- and/or too weak to pass their own modest (and overwhelmingly popular agenda) despite a 60 vote Senate- and despite the well known FACT that Republicans got most everything they wanted- despite much of it equally or more unpopular.

7. We need to take the strategy that we crunch GOP necks with our boots
Edited on Mon Jan-04-10 10:52 PM by zulchzulu
They will try any and everything to make it a perception that Democrats are against America... we don't care about terror... we don't care about people... we are this... we are that...

I'm of the mind where we go after them much harder than they ever thought was possible and keep going after them long after they gave up. No remorse, no stopping to watch them flail with fear in their eyes asking for forgiveness... crunch and crunch some more.

13. You start out against Republicans and then turn your invective against Dems
Edited on Tue Jan-05-10 07:35 AM by Phoebe Loosinhouse
I would guess any Dems who disagree with you about the direction of the Party, the Congress and the Administration to date. Then your language becomes filled with strawmen and fantasy images of those Dems - who of course will be chastened and then rallied by you with your masterful use of put-downs against the "mommy's boys"(!)pacifist, vegans who have overrun the party and disrupted your flow of Democratic testosterone.

Post # 3 - "Of course, anyone can paint the Democrats in a purist, civics-challenged, sophomoric perception that they own companies, enjoy the dreaded capitalism and otherwise eat evil meat products, but the calculation is a little better than this "sordid" complicity."

Except of course, no one anywhere that I have ever seen on this board has railed against any elected Democrat on the basis advanced in this sentence - that they own companies, enjoy capitalism and eat evil meat products.

". . .Not who can be Mother Theresa's uber-karmic, non-deist, mega-vegan, mild-mannered, pacifist druidist..."

Post 5 - "turncoat asshat. . . toothless mommy's boy utopian purists . . . assholes."

****************************************************

What a mess! It'd be a lot better if you collated the actual and real accomplishments and compared them with Republican alternatives rather than devoting your time to insulting and belittling those you are attempting to rally.

Instead, why don't you get someone elected who will do a better job?

19. Don't be overconfident... You said, "All we have to do..."
"...is paint these mother fuckers as Last Century and we're Golden."

The most important part of that sentence is we have to do.

WE have to DO.

WE have to DO a LOT -- phone calling, door knocking, campaigning, etc. -- before we're golden.

22. Agreed
I'm very aware that the usual campaigning tools need to be used to keep it all going.

What I want to emphasize is that people don't have to feel like it's a lost cause fighting the Republicans in 2010 and beyond. They have a lot of gaping holes in their arguments and their frontline people are divisive, stupid and negative.

21. What about election fraud?
It wasn't all that long ago the country(the world!) was screwed over by the theft of the presidency. We soon found out why they so desperately wanted the election(9/11, PNAC etc) and they are still only beginning their evil plans. Cheney is still laying in wait, with his stay backs in all the government agencies.

Nothing has changed as far as our election process. The corporations(republicans) still own the media and they will use it to create the propaganda they need to steal it again.

It is obvious they let Obama win one so they had someone to blame everything on, maybe to get more people to join the military...but they are no doubt planning to take it back, the house, the senate and the presidency...hello sarah palin(with Cheney as VP again)

we have to do more than donate and knock on doors.
