Episcopal Bishops Can Bless Gay Unions

This is good but not ideal, it stops short of giving gay couples the full ceremony... or something, heh, sorry, I'm an atheist and am having a little trouble understanding all the terminology :D The gist seems to be though, that it is almost marrying gay couples but not exactly.

My thinking is, send the church a thank you note for what they have done but still encourage them to go the whole way here. I found the churches site here:

http://ecusa.anglican.org/

and the contact page here:

http://www.episcopalchurch.org/78714_ENG_HTM.htm

I'm going to hold off for a day before contacting... heh, I'm assuming we should contact The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori Presiding Bishop and Primate.

Yeah... Primate? ok, we want to encourage so I'll refrain from jokes :D If anyone knows for sure that this is the correct person, please post or if I'm wrong, please post that as well.

Otherwise... You have the address, lets get our thanks and encouragement for full equality out to them!

1. I Am Very Much AGAINST Pressuring Churches To Do Anything for Gay People.
That is precisely the argument that the right uses: that churches will be forced to marry gay people whether they want to or not. Sending letters and phone calls to churches asking them to marry gay people only fuels that fire.

By and large, christianity has made it clear it wants nothing to do with us. I say the feeling should be more than mutual.
