LIMA, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Bolivian opposition governors suspended the ongoing dialogue with President Evo Morales on Wednesday, stranding the president's efforts to end the political crisis in the country, reports from La Paz said.

Mario Cossio, governor of the major opposition province of Tarija in the south of the country, said Morales' government did not obey its early promises which laid the foundation for the dialogue.

He accused the government of "hunting" and "kidnapping" civilians who took part in the opposition's protests against the government last month.

Five of the nine Bolivian provinces including Tarija and Santa Cruz have been demanding autonomy from the central government. They are also against Morales' new constitution that allows more wealth distributed to the poor.
