Another unexpected corner of the Latin world -Tenerife

This is one of a series of recordings collected in Tenerife, the most populous of the seven Canary Islands.

The song, Adelita, is a Mexican song commemorating Pershing's infective search for Pancho Villa in Mexico.

The two kids singing the song are absolutely kick ass. There are twenty-odd more songs recorded in this 'parranda' by young people who later formed the group 'Jovenes Cantadores'.

I was absolutely blown away by the talent displayed in all of these recordings. If makes me so grateful to be the product of two cultures, and be able to bridge this difficult gap.
