Argentina, South Africa sign defence pact

ARGENTINA: Argentina and South Africa Defence Ministers Nilda Garre and Lindiwe Sisulu respectively were set to sign Saturday the first bilateral cooperation pact between their countries since the end of apartheid. The ceremony was to take place aboard the South African Navy ship SAS Drakenserg, anchored in the Navy’s North Pier in Buenos Aires port.

A press release posted on the website of the Argentine armed forces says the agreement involves exploring coopeation in scientific, technological and production areas of defence.
