Juan Juan Almeida, son of the historic and recently deceased commander of the Cuban Revolution, Juan Almeida Bosque, was arrested at midweek in Havana after going into the streets with a poster saying he was on a hunger strike, a family member said

According to his family, Juan Juan Almeida, 44, an attorney by profession, has been asking the Cuban government for several years to grant him authorization for a temporary departure from the island to seek treatment for a congenital rheumatological ailment and to see his wife and daughter who live in the United States

She said that on Thursday a police official told her that Juan Juan was under arrest because “he constituted a threat to public order, but has not been informed of the charges.

I sure hope they will let him leave to treat his medical condition. Anyone know more about this?
