Fariñas ends his hunger strike in Cuba

He made the announcement today in response to the pending liberation of 52 prisoners negotiated by the Cuban Catholic Church.

But he said he was "postponing" his strike the three or four months it will take to free all the prisoners. The first five are to be released in the next few hours or days.

Fariñas appears to be a professional hunger striker. According to the story, since 1995 he has staged 23 hunger strikes, the longest in 2006 for six months to demand unlimited access to the Internet.

1. Oh, for chrissakes! Ha ha ha ha ha ha. This was the first thing I thought of when they released them
He really milked that one for all it was worth, didn't he? Good grief!

So he also went on a hunger strike for internet access? Can you imagine what would happen to a US federal prisoner who tried that? Oh, my god.

So you know how many photos are dumped into the internet images pool on this guy concerning his hunger striking. They reveled in it for publicity.

Cuba needs to dump him out, let him take up his career in Miami, with his loudmouth fans.

There's something insincere about a man who keeps throwing these hunger strike tantrums to get what he wants, instead of living a righteous life.

3. A Nobel for this man.
The repug model of a hero: He ran up medical costs that could have been used to treat the truly needy, and needlessly wasted costly social resources.
