Chavez accuses US of military moves during World Cup
<snip>

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez accused US forces Friday of making nefarious moves in places like Iran and North Korea as the World Cup captures the attention of fans around the globe.

"While we are following football from around the world, the empire has sent a fleet to surround Iran," said Chavez, referring to the United States. "The whole zone is very threatened."

Unlike the rest of football-crazy Latin America, baseball and even basketball are more popular sports in Venezuela, which has never qualified to play in a World Cup for football.

Chavez also claimed Washington was engaged in a "conspiracy" to start a war between North and South Korea.

1. Iran isn't an island, it can't be surrounded by the US fleet
That's a really silly comment, isn't it?

2. Hehe!
Oh I think Little Kim, the world's only fat North Korean, is managing that "conspiracy" quite well on his own.

3. from the story: he said the US put a bomb in the South Korean ship
"They put a bomb in a South Korean ship, and the Yankees did it to try to start a war between the two Koreas and justify another invasion," he said, referring to the March sinking of a South Korean warship.

4. That's pretty funny
So the Americans put a bomb in a North Korean ship. This means Chavez is apologizing for Dear Leader Kim. All we need now is a Chavez speech defending Idi Amin and Papa Doc Duvalier
