ECONOMY
The local unit of Pepsico Inc., which is run by Venezuela's food giant Empresas Polar, rejected on Wednesday the order issued by the Mayoralty of Libertador Municipality to remove a Pepsi advertising ball located on a skyscraper in Caracas.

The company said in a statement that "the globe represents an icon of advertising in the Venezuelan capital, symbolizing the presence and commitment of a brand that is embraced by million Venezuelan consumers."

Carla Hernández, legal adviser of Pepsi Cola Venezuela, said that "Pepsi Cola has all the required legal permits granted by the Mayoralty of Libertador Municipality and the Airports Agency, which was attached to the former Ministry of Transport and Communications."
