Ibope: Serra leads with 36%, Dilma with 29%
Edited on Wed Apr-21-10 07:10 PM by Meshuga
José Serra maintains a 7 point lead in the race for the presidency according to a Ibope poll released today. According to the results, the PSDB candidate reached 36% and the PT candidate, Dilma Rouseff, appears with 29%. The previous Ibope poll shows Serra with 35% and Dilma with 30%.

The Green Party candidate (Marina Silva) went up two points reaching 8% to tie Ciro Gomes (Socialist Brazilian Party) who fell 3 points since the previous poll. According to Ibope, 9% are still undecided and the other 10% said they were going to to cast a blank vote. In Brazil you have to vote since it is the law, so a lot people have a choice to vote blank to annul their own vote. The margin of error is 2%.

The poll also shows that Lula still has a 83% approval rating. According to 76% of the respondents, his administration is "great" or "good". This 76% rate is a historical record.

It is interesting that Ciro Gomes gets the most rejection with 48% of the respondents saying that they would never vote for him. Marina da Silva came in second with 43%. 34% said they would never vote for Dilma and 32% said the same about Serra.
