Al Jazeera Video from Caracas
This is a very good video about Venezuela and the situation here about a week ago, mostly filmed in Caracas by Al Jazeera TV.

Al Jazeera is a TV network from the Middle East. I'd like to point out they've been targeted by US missiles and their correspondents have been killed on several occassions by the US military. I know in the US there is a lot of pro-Israel feelings, so you may find an Arab station to be biased, but these guys are very professional. I recommend them.

1. Proof that Chavez is not a fascist.
Only great democratic leaders put massive banners of themselves up all over cities, right?

2. We don't know if he put it up
My impression is these posters are put up by PSUV politicians who want to suck up to Chavez. And you should hear them, "Si, mi comandante" is so fashionable (that's "Yes, my commander"). It's so weird, I feel like I'm living in a comic strip.

4. Gonzalez? What he said is true
What counts with the people in the barrios is crime, water supply, electric power, cold beer, cheap corn flour, a reasonable bus service, and a maternity hospital with doctors. It's so simple, you'd think these guys would have it figured out. I don't need Gonzalez reading his graphs to know this. This is so basic the guy who watches your car when you park it on the street, your dentist, and your rich uncle will give you the same list.
