Found some interesting things (and have some thoughts) on the Costa Rica election....
See my comments, beginning with No. 3, here,

The latest Associated Pukes article on the Costa Rica election (which is today) claims that the rightwing anti-tax candidate wants to "dismantle monopolies," but what they don't tell you is that he is talking about PUBLIC services, not corporate monopolies.

The third placed candidate (in the polls) is, by far, the best (Otton Solis)--but it looks like either the "free trader" (Oscar Arias-type sell-out--a woman) or the anti-tax nut will win. I am trying to fathom why, in my comments.

2. Otton "Dalai Lama" Solis?
Sounds to me like he's a little out of the running. And he is surely full of non sense to insult the Chinese with this idea about the Dalai Lama. It is like going to Great Britain and suggesting you want to name a football stadium "Joan d' Arc".

3. So I shouldn't talk about him? I should talk only about the rightwing candidates?
How Associated Pukish of you!

As for Dalais Lama football stadium, it wouldn't be in China, it would be in Costa Rica--as Joan d'Arc football stadium wouldn't be in Great Britain, it would be in the U.S., for your analogy to make any sense at all. And guess what? It kind of is. The Statue of Liberty stands as an on-going insult, France to Great Britain, "liberty, equality, fraternity"'s "f__ you!" to the British monarchy, via the Revolutionary U.S.

Why should a candidate for president in Costa Rica have reverence for Chinese imperialism?

I kind of like the idea of a Buddhist football stadium.
