Chavez: Pull reserves from US

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080126/ap_on_bi_ge/venezuela_alba_summit

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez urged his Latin American allies on Saturday to begin withdrawing billions of dollars in international reserves from U.S. banks, warning of a looming U.S. economic crisis.

Chavez made the suggestion as he hosted a summit aimed at boosting Latin American integration and rolling back U.S. influence.

"We should start to bring our reserves here," Chavez said. "Why does that money have to be in the north? ... You can't put all your eggs in one basket."

Chavez warned that U.S. "imperialism is entering into a crisis that can affect all of us" and said Latin America "will save itself alone."

3. You bet it is. It's also of general interest that the taxpayer-financed imposter in the White House
has been bankrolling tons of opposition groups in Venezuela, even bringing their leaders to Washington, D.C., entertaining them in the Oval Office, and staging photo ops with them, treating them as the real leaders of that country. He started this long before his administration worked with opposition forces as they planned and executed their violent coup which was overthrown as soon as the public penetrated the total news blackout the opposition-owned news media had constructed to keep them from knowing what was happening until AFTER the Presidency had been claimed and populated by the new people.

As Peace Patriot has pointed out again and again, Venezuela is dead center in the sights of this administration, as it has been working to overthrow Venezuela elected President from the very first.

It deeply involves Americans every single day.

4. Quite a jolt seeing your article catapulted right back here to this section!
I was sickened when it happened to me the first time.

There has been serious resistance in some quarters to Democrats discussing US foreign policy in Latin America because our foaming-at-the-mouth, vicious, murderous, xenophobic, "silent majority" right-wing goes berserk if anyone challenges its right to rule over ALL the Americas.

They truly don't believe Latin Americans and Caribbean Islanders have the right to self-determination, and they literally believe this country OWNS their asses. Any attempt to discuss the fantastically diseased, deadly, and tragic abuse of the Americas is always met with shrieking, name-calling, bitter, hideous hatred from the right, and there are obviously people operating as "Democrats" who are all too hasty to indulge their belief they are God's chosen rulers.
