acnnews 2 Cuban Counterrevolutionaries Exposed as Advisors of Coup in Honduras
HAVANA, Cuba, July 9 (acn) Counterrevolutionaries of Cuban origin Otto Reich, who was undersecretary of State under the George W. Bush administration, and Carlos Alberto Montaner, cooperated as advisors in the coup staged against Honduran President Manuel Zelaya. The Cuban Granma newspaper today published information taken from Radio Miami radio station revealing a secret report sent to an embassy in a European country, close ally of Washington, giving details of the involvement of the two Cuban counterrevolutionaries in the violent actions in Honduras. According to the report, Montaner and Reich kept in permanent contact with coup perpetrators by means of intermediary agents or by phone connections. Montaner used its electronic contact from Madrid, while Reich did it from Panama. The report reveals that Montaner advised Honduran coup plotters to resist international pressure in order to prevent the return of Zelaya to his country and to advance the electoral presidential process called for late this year. Both men are now in Miami, from where they keep in contact with the Honduran coup perpetrators under the label of “friendly collaborators”. Carlos Alberto Montaner is a CIA agent programmed to undertake state terrorist actions first in Puerto Rico and later in Spain, as well as harassment tactics against the Cuban Revolution. Meanwhile, Otto Reich—a furious enemy of the Cuban Revolution—is also with the CIA and participates in the organization of coups and destabilization actions against progressive governments, as well as in the protection of terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles.
