Honduran Coup Perpetrators Prevent Ministers from Travelling to Costa Rica

HAVANA, Cuba, July 8 (acn) Honduran President Jose Manuel Zelaya denounced on Wednesday that the de facto regime in his country is preventing the ministers that were preparing to participate in the dialogue aimed at finding a solution to the crisis from travelling to
Costa Rica.

Cuban News Agency

They’re trying to impose the commission of mediation upon me and this is already not looking good, declared Zelaya shortly before boarding the airplane that would take him to the Costa Rican capital, where he will meet with de facto president Roberto Micheletti, with President Oscar Arias as mediator.

Zelaya denounced the banning of the coup perpetrators against Minister Enrique Flores and other members of the Honduran constitutional president’cabinet. The previous day, Zelaya had accepted Arias’ mediation in the search for a solution to the crisis created after the coup d’etat perpetrated on June 28, although he warned that it’s not a question of a negotiation.

There are things that can’t be negotiated, like the restoration of democracy and my return as president, affirmed Zelaya, to then make it clear that his reinstatement in his post “it’s not negotiable, and I will never betray the people that’s today on the streets”.

Demonstrations in Honduran cities to condemn the de facto regime and demand the reinstatement of Zelaya continued on Wedneaday with great strength.
