Weird Q&A State Dept.: Status of USAID Money - Cuba
From Karen Wald's Cuba-inside-Out List. In addition to the US organizations mentioned below that can bid for USAID grants, foreign organizations can do so as well! talk about a really good way to hide the money.

re "Question: What is the status of the money being given to Cuba?"
You would think that the State Dept Spokesman could at least get it right (correct the question that was asked) but he didn't. As
Wlter Lippmann pointed out in CubaNews

The money, of course, does not go to "Cuba" but to U-selected opponents of the Cuban government.al

2. I guess the Cuban gov should set up some fake "dissidents" to get some of this cash too.
The US gov is doing just that, so I think Cuba should do the same and cash-in. :eyes:
