DEMONSTRATION: "Colonial Status of Puerto Rico Denounced at US Congress"
After the shootings that took place the last time Puerto Ricans came to protest at the US Congress in 1954, I'm sure this scared the bejeebers out of the legislators!

Colonial Status of Puerto Rico Denounced at US Congress

SAN JUAN, May 6 — The US Congress was interrupted on Tuesday by shouts of Viva Puerto Rico Libre! (Long Live a Free Puerto Rico) from six protestors.

The demonstrators were carrying placards denouncing the colonial status of Puerto Rico. They were immediately arrested by security agents and taken away to an unknown place.

Some of the placards demanded that President Barack Obama put an end to the opprobrium to which the Puerto Rican people are submitted after 110 years of US colonial control.

The protest was coordinated with the support of Puerto Ricans living in the US, said singer and actor Carlos Esteban Fonseca in a telephone call with Prensa Latina from Washington.
