1. I don't know, have you seen this?
According to the technical report, there were 37,872 word documents, 452 spreadsheets, 210,888 pictures, 10,537 multimedia files, 7,989 e-mail addresses and 22.481 web pages. It would take more than 100 years for a person to read all files. The INTERPOL technical report concluded that the content of the Reyes laptop was not modified by Colombia.

2. Interpol also claimed "huge caches" of emails
From http://www.economist.com/world/americas/displaystory.cfm?story_id=11412645">the Economist: "Interpol has now concluded that the huge cache of e-mails and other documents recovered from the computers of Raúl Reyes, a senior leader of the FARC guerrillas killed in a Colombian bombing raid on his camp in Ecuador on March 1st, are authentic and undoctored."

"in one indication of their accuracy, the documents provided information that in March guided police in Costa Rica to a house where they found $480,000 in cash, as an e-mail suggested."

(as an e-mail suggested??)

"The e-mails released so far represent only a fraction of the almost 40,000 written documents and 610 gigabytes of data on the computers. For all his bravado, Mr Chávez is clearly discomfited by all this."

Now where are those emails at?

Suddenly they're gone, and so are the headlines about the story! Imagine that.

8. Thanks for the 2nd link which reminds us of that earlier revelation which ALSO was completely
ignored by the bastards pushing the laptop concoction. Reference from the link:
This is, of course, precisely why the meadia won't be dwelling much on this story. The news that the "thousands of e-mails" they used to whack those nasty lefty people over the head with do not exist is rather embarrassing. So in true style, the story will be ignored and spiked in newsrooms around the world. Not a single apology, not a single correction.

It does remind me of the pristine condition of those laptops, as shown by Colombia to the world in May. That's the official police photo above....I mean, just look at it. There's not a scratch on those machines. Don't you find that slightly weird for three pieces of computer equipment carried round the jungle by a bunch of terrorists? Don't you find it weird after Reyes and his cohorts had the crap bombed out of them by several bombing runs and then commandos piling in to give them les coups de grace a few minutes later? And then there was this story uncovered by Daniel Denvir....the one about how the photos that Colombia leaked as from the FARC machines were proven to be Colombia intelligence snaps.
Had forgotten all about it. That should have alerted anyone who still had swallowed the earlier whopper, anyone too slow, too beaten down to have not seen through it from the first.

Thanks, subsuelo. I'll be keeping a look out, too. If anything comes up, one of us may spot it. It doesn't look like they're willing to admit we know they were lying, does it? That lie was NEVER credible. Only a brain-damaged idiot could have bought it, anyway: a right-wing, greedy, xenophobic fascist.

9. A reminder to people who've forgotten, the Colombian government was already caught
in this bizarre scam ealier which was linked from the 2nd link posted by subsuelo:
Photos Allegedly From FARC PC Undermine Colombian Credibility, Point to Intelligence Presence in Ecuador

May 23 2008
Daniel Denvir
A series of photos allegedly found on the laptops of Raúl Reyes, the FARC leader killed when the Colombian government bombed and raided a FARC encampment across the Ecuadoran border, appear to have actually been taken by Colombian intelligence agents—or by allied police or intelligence agents—in Quito, Ecuador. The photos were supplied to the Bogotá daily El Tiempo by an anonymous Colombian intelligence source Monday, March 3, just two days after the raid on the encampment.
