5. I'm pretty sure he was both.
He was a civil rights lawyer first, then a public defender.

correct me if I am wrong.

6. In his speech we watched today, he said
out of law school he went into private practice with a very prestigious firm. Then he became a PD. I thought after the PD he went right into public service.

I'm not sure what type of law he practiced in the law firm, but -- and this is my bias, I'm sure -- I usually don't view "those" types of firms taking on civil rights issues.

Joe still covers more of those choices in that poll than Edwards. yet it was an edwards supporter who posted it. not knowing how much broader Joe is than John. Funny.
