VP Joe Biden came to Iowa.....and guess who joined him???

HUNTER :loveya:

Here's a couple more pics of JRB!

Speaking at the Iowa Dem's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner

With my favorite Biden supporter :)

Can't believe I'm still on DU (and obviously my star hasn't run out yet) but wanted to share these with all my fellow Bidenites!

Oh and I made it a point to finally get my pic taken w/VP Biden in the 'line up and get an official photo' part of the night! I told him that somehow in the last two and 1/2 years I don't have a single pic of me w/him. Of course he smiled and said we'd take care of that right now. Yea!

1. I just saw your photos on Facebook
and came here to post about them.

You must be heaven right about now and Matt clearly had the best day of his life!

2. You know what made it really great?
Was that so many of the Iowa Biden supporters got to be together FOR HIM again! We were all just giddy b/c this was the guy we started with, that was fun!

Also two of his wonderful staff from WAY BACK in the beginning are now with him in his VP office (probably more but Annie and Fran are the two that travelled with him). Can't believe that over two years have passed by since we met them. Both said the are having a great time!!

We'll probably not get this opportunity again so it was just perfect that it fell on JRB's and Matt's birthday weekend! This is a story that he can tell FOREVER!!!

Oh yeah....and Hunter kissed me :loveya:... and Dave told him to get his hands of his wife  And when I got to stand for my photo with the Vice President Dave yelled "Hey, get your hands off her" and VP Biden hugged me real tight! Who DOES that? :7

3. Oh my God
It couldn't be more perfect!

Two years? Man, it doesn't seem that long ago, does it? We never saw where it was going.

5. I thought about my fellow Bidenites ALL Saturday night
because I brought a few pair of shoes along (we were hurried b/c I'd attended a seminar earlier in the day and didn't have time to figure out my outfit until after we were at our hotel).

I wore the same red shoes that I'd worn in 2007!! Yes, they are two years old but man they are so comfortable AND they're kind of my 'meet Joe Biden' shoes!!

:P And thanks to the heel on them I wasn't SO much shorter than Hunter.

9. My daughters BARELY TOLERATE my lack of interest in 'fashion!'
I'm a retired attorney, so family is/was used to my daily 'office' dress. Much less affluent now, so much less polished!

12. That's like me - I gave up the corporate world 3 years ago and now dressing up
is putting on black jeans :P

What type of attorney were you? My dad was an attorney in Chicago. He did alot of different things - represented a corporation, real estate, a little bit of crime, and alot of divorces. Oh man did he hate the divorce cases. Altho he did one custody case that really touched his heart. Till the day he died that one case brought tears to his eyes.

15. Haven't had jeans in xxxxxxxx years!!!!
Went to law school in Chicago, and worked there for a bit, for criminal defense and appellate attorneys. Later moved to DC, and spent much time at Interstate Commerce Commission = railroad matters. Can't imagine doing domestic stuff! Have a VERY good and nice atty representing me against husb. Joel is so good and mild-mannered, as well as being a fine attorney. Me, I'd NEVER be able to do that stuff.

16. So you don't wear jeans, and you don't wear career clothing - ellen --
what do you wear? :) Should we be looking for you on the Spice Channel. You know I'm just teasing - right?

What law school did you go to in Chicago? I love Chicago, but I could never live there again.
I bet living in DC was fascinating.

Part of the reason is limited income.

DePaul.
DC is interesting. Am still nearby, have moved farther out. Family split makes these decisions challenging.

20. Family Law is about 80% of my husband's practice
:( and it breaks my heart!

He does some minor criminal and P/I work too.

Don't know that would have the skills to do real estate/corporate work but it wouldn't be as emotional as divorces/child custody cases.

11. I hate buying shoes
I wear them until they fall apart and then part with them very reluctantly. Hate breaking in new shoes.

7. So she wore her sexy red shoes to see Hunter.

How tall are you? For some reason I thought you were a shrimp like me - I'm 5'1....they don't make heels high enough for me to be not much shorter than Hunter...or anybody, for that matter. :)

I'll have to get on FB later to see your pics.

18. I'm 5'2" and the heels on my shoes were 3" so for Hunter I was 5'5"
:P

And I don't buy shoes much either so my red shoes were 'like new' b/c they haven't seen much wear in the last two years. I wears jeans and flats to Dave's office most days and only dress up when I have to attend Court or depositions or interviews with him. Re-read all the posts above and that's me! The only time new dresses/shoes seem to get purchased are when we attend political evens (ala the Bidens in the last couple of years!!)

One thing I have going for me, I have the right name for Joe - he wouldn't even have to worry about mixing up our names - just sayin' :P

10. I was just telling my daughter about your experiences
with Joe (yes, she's envious too) and I tried to remember the story about when Joe called your husband and you answered the phone thinking it was someone else. Can you reprise that story for us? It was a goody as I recall.

19. Ha Ha! I told him he was going to got to Hell!!!
:wow:

I was at the UNI/Delaware football game w/Matt (it was deer season so Dave was at his hunting cabin) and the wrong team was winning dammit!

One of our Biden Boys was texting me that he was wearing the UNI sweatshirt we bought him but was secretly cheering for Delaware. Then my phone rang.

Thinking it was him I just said "You know you're going to hell" and the response I got was something in the line of "This isn't who you think it is...this is Joe Biden, is Dave available?"

He was stuck in Chicago in snowy weather trying to get to the AARP forum in Davenport.

Yeah x( don't think I've lived that one down yet.....
