2. Me too. That's how I woke up this morning. |
|
Turned on the tv and there was Joe, and then I realized what had happened.
I am heartbroken.

3. The only good thing to come of all this is the outpouring of love for Teddy |
|
and the urgent need to pass health care becoming even more urgent.

5. Joe Biden is a wonderful man |
|
His tribute to Teddy is one of the best I have heard. He served a very long time with the Senior Senator from Massachusetts and his tears and joke, memories of songs and battles they fought together are truly a comfort for many today.
Thank you Joe! You are indeed a class act.

6. Kerry's statement was great as well. |
|
Keep tearing up and being distracted at work today. I guess I'm glad the nation had the time to honor Teddy before he went - and I've learned more about his greatness in the last year anyway.

7. It will take some time to absorb this loss |
|
We Massachusetts Democrats have sort of been caught over the last year between being unable to speak about this unspeakably cruel thing and afraid not to speak lest we never get a chance to say how much we loved Teddy and how grateful to God we are for the gift of this good man.
Joe knows what we meant. He knows the pain and the glory, the need to mourn and to celebrate. He just knows and I love him for it.

8. My daughter-in-law in Boston |

told me last night that Massachusetts will be a mess today. What a sad day for us all. I don't think we've ever had a family quite like the Kennedys.

9. You know what really got me today? |
|
Other than walking around with a heavy heart?
I have an ebay store - and I had one of Teddy's books for sale (America Back on Track) - well it sold today, to someone who lives in Mass. I just sat down and cried
What a huge loss :(
