Joe is going to Belgium next week for Nato Summit
WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit NATO headquarters next week.

The White House on Tuesday announced Biden plans to travel to Brussels to meet with NATO's 26 member states. Biden plans to talk with U.S. allies about Afghanistan and Pakistan and report back to President Barack Obama.

Biden also plans to meet with the secretary general of NATO, European Union officials and Belgian leaders.http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hzSaiE68V_fqbsGh30zrcQuGlTfgD96MPTFG0

1. Does anyone besides me
think that Obama is the one that should be there - not Joe?

This is the second time I have thought this. The first time was when he sent Joe to meet with world leaders in Germany....

2. Maybe because the economy is so dire and the markets are so bad right now?
Not sure why but maybe he trusts Joe with the responsibility to represent the United States over there? He is not sending over Hillary either. I don't know.

3. I'm sure that's why. I just think world leaders want to work with Obama on this...
rather than Joe that will have to report to Obama, and then get back to them.

I'm sure it's because of the economy.

Just questioning it, that's all :)

4. With the dire situation on the home front,
I think people would be really pissed if Obama went off the Europe.

Joe knows everyone already. He is a good choice to go overseas. Between him and Hillary, our standing in the world will be transformed very quickly.
